Mr Kool – Profile Real name: Alex Ibeh Birthday: 4th October (Libra) Music Genre: R&B/Soul/Pop Childhood Ambition: To be a Broadcaster Hush-Hush side: A crazy Comedian Fun Interests: I love my family….its like a reality show. Mr Kool (a.k.a The Bridge), is probably Nigeria's longest standing artiste in the Hip Hop/ Pop/ R&B categories, still strongly relevant and respected. Having been discovered at age of 15 as the lead singer/songwriter of a Hip hop group made up of 2 African-Americans and 2 Nigerians.
He is also known as one of the pioneers of Hip Hop and RnB in Nigeria as his group SOUND ON SOUND officially recorded Nigeria's first Hip Hop album, signed under Polygram Records International in 1989.

At d age of 16 he did his first major stage performance, at Miss Nigeria Beauty Contest, at Eko Hotel. Lagos. On the same stage, the name “MR KOOL” was given to him by Chief Segun Osoba (former Governor of Ogun State) who described him as ‘the little man with the COOL voice. When the Nigerian music industry became unstable and record companies folded up, his group 'Sound on Sound' broke up, and Mr Kool took a break from music to secure a Degree in Business Administration, and also establish a family business. But bowing to pressures from friends and colleagues, he returned on the scene in 2001.

He returned as an R&B pastor, preaching the gospel of Love, Life and Relationships; recording quality sound and making high tech videos. Mr Kool is a gifted songwriter and composer whose lyrics are intellectual, mature and with strong underlying messages. His music range from Soul/Pop/R&B, with a slice of Hiphop and African rhythm. At the early stage of his career, many did not reckon that he was a Nigerian artiste owing to the quality of his musc and videos which were compared to international standards. In most interviews he had to clarify "I am Nigerian, living in Nigeria, recorded in Nigeria; I just love to be thorough the best I can, its hard work but someone has to do it" Lol. Some critics say his music was too posh and mature for his environment. Mr Kool’s music and personality appeals more strongly to the ladies, but he always says "am still kool wit d haters, lol" Albums / Solo Career 1.) - In 2001, Mr Kool released his first solo Soul/RnB album titled – ‘BREAKIN’ ICE’ Which contained the hit track –Don’t Call me Brother 2.) 2005, he signed a management deal with Now Muzik and released a re-defining RnB album titled ‘STILL KOOL’. This album and the accompanying videos earned him nicknames like ‘The RnB Pastor, The Bridge, The R. Kelly of Nigeria, Mr Soul Music. Nigeria's Ultimate Music Sex Symbol, etc etc.

Present Day: In December 2011, - Mr Kool will ‘re-invent’ himself, and release a new album titled ‘NEW LIFE’– featuring, 2face Idibia, Ice Prince, Sound Sultan, Zee, Mr Raw Nwanne, LKT, Vector and More. This album will re-affirm that this smooth artiste is “too legit to quit” The New Life album is true to its title as it brings a fresh and brand new Mr Kool; new sound, new videos, new look, new collaborations and new appeal. The songs are fun and friendly, yet with the maturity of a well experienced musician. “NEW LIFE is a new school album but still obeying the old school music rules’.
